Bohemian crystal is a type of glass that originated in the Czech lands, formerly known as Bohemia. It is famous for its high quality, craftsmanship, and beauty.  The production of Bohemian crystal flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries, when it became a major export item for the Habsburg Empire. Bohemian crystal was prized for its clarity, brilliance, and variety of colors and shapes. It was used to make chandeliers, goblets, vases, jewelry, and other decorative items.

We will take you to a family owned Ruckl Glassworks manufacture in Nizbor.  This glass factory produces 24% lead crystal and is known for its mouth-blown, hand-cut crystal with unique designs and perfect details. Ruckl glassworks is located in  Central Bohemia, only 35 minutes from downtown Prague.

Our Bohemian Crystal tour will introduce you to Moser glass. Moser Glass Company was founded by Ludwig Moser in 1857 in Czechoslovakia and was focused on creating high-quality, engraved glass products. In 1873, Moser received a medal at the Vienna International Exhibition, which led to an increased interest in his products. Since Moser catered to royalty, the company’s slogan became King of Glass, Glass of Kings.

Bohemian crystal tour will also present you with Preciosa brand. Preciosa was founded in 1948 in the Czech Republic. The company started as a small glass factory and has since grown into a global leader in the production of high-quality crystal products.

Lasvit company will be another point of interest on our Bohemian Crystal tour. Lasvit is a Czech glass producer that was founded in 2007. The company specializes in the production of high-quality glass products including lighting fixtures, sculptures, and more.
