Baroque architecture is a style that emerged in the late 16th century and lasted until the early 18th century.  In Prague, Baroque architecture was introduced in the early 17th century by Italian architects who were brought to the city by Emperor Rudolf II. Baroque is characterized by ornate details and dramatic effects and on our tour you will find that Prague has many examples of Baroque architecture.

The Church of St. Nicholas and the Strahov monastery are two of the most famous examples of Baroque architecture in Prague.
