Bohemian Crystal tour

Bohemian crystal is a type of glass that originated in the Czech lands, formerly known as Bohemia. It is famous for its high quality, craftsmanship, and beauty. The production of Bohemian crystal flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries, when it became a major export item for the Habsburg Empire. Bohemian crystal was prized for its clarity, brilliance, and variety of colors and shapes. It was used to make chandeliers, goblets, vases, jewelry, and other decorative items.

Bohemian Crystal tour will be pleased to show you the best of the Czech crystal. We will take you to a family owned Ruckl Glassworks manufacture in Nizbor. This glass factory produces 24% lead crystal and is known for its mouth-blown, hand-cut crystal with unique designs and perfect details. Ruckl glassworks is located in Central Bohemia, only 35 minutes from downtown Prague.

Our Bohemian Crystal tour will introduce you to Moser glass. Moser Glass Company was founded by Ludwig Moser in 1857 in Czechoslovakia and was focused on creating high-quality, engraved glass products. In 1873, Moser received a medal at the Vienna International Exhibition, which led to an increased interest in his products. Since Moser catered to royalty, the company’s slogan became King of Glass, Glass of Kings.

Bohemian crystal tour will also present you with Preciosa brand. Preciosa was founded in 1948 in the Czech Republic. The company started as a small glass factory and has since grown into a global leader in the production of high-quality crystal products.

Lasvit company will be another point of interest on our Bohemian Crystal tour. Lasvit is a Czech glass producer that was founded in 2007. The company specializes in the production of high-quality glass products including lighting fixtures, sculptures, and more.

Dresden day trip

If you want to visit a city full of history and culture, you should consider a day trip to Dresden.

Dresden is the capital of Saxony, a region in eastern Germany that borders Poland and the Czech Republic. Dresden was once known as the Florence of the North, because of its beautiful architecture and art collections. However, during World War II, most of the city was destroyed by Allied bombing raids. After the war, Dresden was rebuilt and restored to its former glory, with many of its landmarks reconstructed according to their original designs. Here is a possible itinerary for our day trip to Dresden.

We will start our Dresden tour at Bruhl’s Terrace.

This is a scenic promenade along the Elbe River that offers stunning views of the city skyline. You can admire the historic buildings on the opposite bank, such as the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger Palace, and the Frauenkirche.

Next, we will walk to the Dresden Cathedral, also known as the Hofkirche or the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

This impressive Baroque church was built in the 18th century and features a 96-meter-high tower, a richly decorated interior, and a crypt that contains the tombs of many Saxon rulers.

From there, we will continue our Dresden tour to the Furstenzug, or the Procession of Princes.

102-meter-long mural that depicts the history of the Wettin dynasty, which ruled Saxony for over 800 years. The mural is made of over 20,000 porcelain tiles and is one of the largest works of its kind in the world.

After admiring the mural, we will continue our Dresden tour to the Frauenkirche, or the Church of Our Lady.

This is one of the most iconic symbols of Dresden.

For lunch, we will head to Neumarkt Square.

There you can find a variety of restaurants and cafes serving local and international cuisine. You can also browse through some souvenir shops and enjoy the lively atmosphere of this central square.

Visit of the Zwinger Palace, one of the most magnificent examples of Rococo architecture in Germany will also be a stop on our Dresden tour. The Zwinger Palace was built in the early 18th century as a venue for court festivities and exhibitions.

This is just a sample itinerary for your day trip to Dresden.

You can customize it according to your preferences and interests.

There are many more attractions and activities to explore in this fascinating city. Whatever you choose to do, we will make sure that you will have a memorable experience in Dresden.

Nelahozeves Chateau is a Renaissance palace situated in the village of Nelahozeves, about 35 km north of Prague. It was constructed in the 16th century by Florian Griespek von Griespach, a nobleman who served as the supreme chamberlain of Emperor Rudolf II. The palace is renowned for its magnificent collection of paintings, sculptures, furniture, and musical instruments.

Nelahozeves Chateau is open to the public and offers tours of the interiors, concerts, exhibitions, and educational programs.
Nelahozeves is also known for being the birthplace of the composer Antonín Dvorak. Antonin Dvorak was a Czech composer who lived from 1841 to 1904. Dvorak is best known for his symphonies, chamber music, operas, and songs. He was influenced by the folk music of his native Bohemia and other Slavic countries. There are also elements of American music incorporated in his works during his stay in the United States from 1892 to 1895. Some of his most famous works include the New World Symphony, the Slavonic Dances, the Cello Concerto, and the Rusalka opera.

This gothic castle is one of the most visited and photographed castles in the country, attracting tourists with its architecture, rich history and scenic surroundings. Karlstejn castle is situated on a hill overlooking the Berounka river, about 30 km southwest of Prague.

Karlstejn Castle is a large Gothic castle that was founded in 1348 by Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia. He built the castle as his private residence and a place of safekeeping for his royal treasures, especially his collections of holy relics and the Imperial Crown Jewels .

Karlstejn castle has a unique structure with several towers and buildings arranged on different levels. The highest point is the Great Tower, which houses the Chapel of the Holy Cross, where the crown jewels and holy relics were stored. The chapel has a remarkable wall decoration with 129 paintings by Master Theodoric, the largest set of his works in the world. The lower levels include the Imperial Palace, the Marian Tower, the Well Tower, and the Burgrave’s House.

The castle underwent several changes over the centuries. In 1421, during the Hussite Wars, the Imperial Regalia were moved to Nuremberg and never returned to Karlstejn. In 1436, the Bohemian Crown Jewels were brought back to the castle and remained there until 1619. Karlstejn castle was also rebuilt in late Gothic style after 1480 and in Renaissance style in the late 16th century. The last major reconstruction took place at the end of the 19th century by architect Josef Mocker, who restored the castle to its original Gothic appearance.

Today, Karlstejn Castle is a national cultural monument and a token to fascinating history of Bohemia.
